Companies from an EU member state outside Germany can place tax-free orders at Sport Conrad within the framework of an intra-community supply, provided a valid VAT identification number is available.
The order must be made out to the company. The delivery and billing addresses must be in the same country.
What do I need to consider when placing an order?
Please proceed as follows:
- Enter the full company name and billing address of your company during the ordering process.
- Ensure that the delivery and billing addresses are located in the same country.
- Before clicking on “Place order with obligation to pay”, enter the following note in the comment field:
“Tax-free intra-community supply – VAT ID no.: [Your VAT identification number]”
You can generally use any payment method offered in the online shop.
What requirements must be met?
Tax-free processing is possible if:
- Your company is based in an EU member state outside Germany,
- the order is made out to the full company name,
- a valid VAT identification number is available,
- the VAT ID number belongs to the company and the country of the billing address,
- and the delivery and billing addresses are in the same country.
The delivery address may be a private address, provided it is located in the same country as the billing address.
What applies to companies from Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom?
For deliveries to non-EU countries such as Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom, German VAT is not charged due to the export.
Therefore, a different procedure applies for these orders. An intra-community supply with a VAT ID number is not required.
What happens after I place my order?
We will check your VAT identification number and then manually convert your order to a tax-free intra-community supply.
In any case, you will receive a corrected net invoice by email.
No additional confirmation of the conversion will be sent.
What applies to payment by advance payment?
Please do not transfer the amount immediately after completing the order.
We will first check your VAT ID number and convert the order to tax-free. Afterwards, you will receive a corrected net invoice by email.
Please then transfer only the net amount shown on this invoice.
What applies to other payment methods?
For PayPal, credit card, Klarna and other offered payment methods, the order is initially paid including VAT.
After successful verification:
- we will convert the order to tax-free,
- refund the charged VAT to the originally used payment method,
- and send you a corrected net invoice by email.
The refund is usually credited to the originally used payment method within one to three days.
Can I submit my VAT ID number after placing the order?
A subsequent notification is only possible as long as the order has not yet been processed or picked.
To do so, reply immediately to your order confirmation and provide us with your full VAT ID number.
Once you have received the email with the subject
“Status information regarding your order”
it is no longer possible to convert the order to a tax-free intra-community supply afterwards.
VAT cannot be refunded retrospectively after dispatch either.
What happens if the VAT ID number is invalid?
If the provided VAT ID number is invalid or does not match the company or billing address, the order cannot be processed tax-free.
In this case, we will contact you and ask you to check or correct your details.
The order will not be processed further until the issue is resolved.
What happens if delivery and billing countries differ?
If the delivery and billing addresses are in different countries, the order cannot be processed tax-free according to this procedure.
We will hold the order and contact you to clarify.
